La Grâce des Argiles is produced from the lower half of Domaine Robert Groffier’s parcel in the legendary Les Amoureuses Premier Cru. Beginning with the 2022 vintage, Nicolas Groffier began vinifying the upper and lower sections separately to show the differences within the climat. This 0.5-hectare parcel has 70-year-old Pinot Noir vines rooted in red clay and limestone, with greater sun exposure than the upper section.
The clay-rich lower parcel gives a richer expression with a velvety texture and is the cuvée closest in style to the domaine’s previous Les Amoureuses bottling. Vinified with 100% whole bunches and indigenous yeasts, it is matured for 12-14 months in oak barrels, including one-third new oak, followed by three months in stainless steel. The wine is bottled without fining or filtration.
