J. Contet Pere & Fils

J. Contet Pere & Fils is a Champagne house based in Épernay, at the heart of France’s Champagne region. The wine is associated with a négociant tradition whose roots date back to 1869, when the business was established by a winegrowing family near Épernay. Since 1979, it has been connected with the Rapeneau family, a family with several generations of experience in Champagne production. Today, J. Contet Pere & Fils forms part of this established Champagne-making heritage, combining traditional regional expertise with an accessible expression of the appellation.
The signature J. Contet Pere & Fils Brut brings together Champagne’s three principal varieties – Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay. Pinot Noir provides structure and depth, Pinot Meunier contributes generous fruit, while Chardonnay brings freshness and finesse. The resulting Champagne offers ripe orchard-fruit character alongside floral, nutty and gently brioche-like nuances, supported by fresh acidity and a creamy texture. Versatile and approachable, it is well suited both as an aperitif and for celebrations, while offering an accessible introduction to classic Champagne.
