Almaviva

Almaviva was born in 1997 from a partnership between Baroness Philippine de Rothschild of Baron Philippe de Rothschild S.A. and Eduardo Guilisasti Tagle, Chairman of Viña Concha y Toro S.A. Their shared vision was to create an exceptional Franco-Chilean wine, bringing together the winemaking heritage and expertise of Bordeaux with the remarkable terroir of Chile. Produced under the joint technical supervision of both partners, its first vintage was launched in 1998 to immediate international success. Today, Almaviva continues the vision of its founding families and has established itself among Chile’s most recognised fine wines.
Produced in Puente Alto in the Maipo Valley, one of Chile’s most celebrated areas for Cabernet Sauvignon, Almaviva is a Cabernet Sauvignon-led blend complemented by Carmenère, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Inspired by the concept of a Bordeaux Grand Cru Classé yet distinctly Chilean in identity, the wine combines concentration and structure with elegance, freshness and complexity. Meticulous winemaking and extended ageing in French oak contribute fine tannins, depth and excellent ageing potential, making Almaviva a compelling expression of Chilean terroir and Franco-Chilean winemaking heritage.
