Robert Groffier Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Amoureuses 2021

Les Amoureuses is a renowned 5.4-hectare Chambolle-Musigny Premier Cru, and Domaine Robert Groffier is its largest owner, holding more than 20% of the climat. The domaine’s approximately one-hectare parcel is planted with 70-year-old Pinot Noir vines and contains two distinct sections: a lower slope of red clay and limestone, and a lighter upper section with more sand and stones.

The supplied domaine sheets explain that these sections have been vinified separately since 2022: the lower clay parcel gives greater richness and a velvety texture, while the upper sandy parcel shows fine acidity and minerality. The traditional cuvée was made with 100% whole bunches and indigenous yeasts, then matured for 12-14 months in oak barrels and three months in stainless steel before bottling without fining or filtration.
